Any morning resting, meditating with eyes closed, a new day. I could feel the sun clawing in around the edges of the blinds. In the background I hear familiar sounds, the TV buzzing. The AC humming. The dog growling. My spouse stirring nearby.

FEMA will conduct a nationwide test of its Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at approximately 2:20 p.m. ET.
