Driving along, I was distracted, momentarily, by a crudely drawn, hand ‘painted’ sign. It read, Life is Like a Yard Sale.
Thinking back, consider what one might find in the typical yard sale. You find treasures. Knick knacks, kitchen items, outdated clothing, dying potted plants, archaic games, worn books/magazines, garden tools, old computers, used sports equipment, costume jewelry, and gotta-have stuff. Clutter.
Remnants of days gone by.
Looking back, what am I leaving scattered behind? Artifacts, photographs, trophies, faded dreams, scars, stories, DNA, space, and memories. Some are joyful, some… not so much.
Remnants of life gone by.
