On a personal note: There are many stories to be shared but for now will proclaim his love for gardening and the only front yard where dandelions never had a chance! In Horseheads, New York, he had what I thought to be the largest backyard garden for miles around. I can see him sitting cross legged in his farmer john overalls tending each plant with care. I suspect he was disappointed upon reaching Tucson, Arizona to find the heat, lack of rain and caliche making gardening a difficult undertaking.
