So, I arrived at 6:27 a.m., May 3, 1949, at some place called Arnot-Ogden Memorial Hospital in Elmira, NY. I naturally assume I was the significant event, all 8 pounds 2 ounces but other significant events filled the year, like the invention of Silly Putty, or cable television debuts, or Americans were buying 100,000 television sets a week. The cable guy, when called upon to assist with a cable issue, asks, “How many TVs do you have?”
“One in every room and yes, if I could install one in the bathroom I would.” But that seems a bit much.
