Friday, a Doberman, thinking she was a lap dog, would grab a worn basketball and zoom around our backyard.

Pebbles, a red dachshund, Tommy’s dog, would gather and “nurse” her toys twice a year and streak out the dogie dog when anyone yelled, “get the cat.”
