Enlighten Pessimist

The desire to change this depraved orb

is a noble dream.

Each generation feels that they, and they

alone, can accomplish this deed.

But from the beginning of time each

has failed this duty.

From the window of my mind, I see

the seemingly unconquerable evil.

Man’s blindness, his refusal to listen

to others and accept their notions.

The hate with which man has destroyed

so much, where good could have been.

Why should I feel downcast because

many die in war?

When it was the Lord who said that there

shall always be wars and rumors of wars?

Who am I to think of changing

war to peace, hate to love?

Yes, spring is here and maybe people will

become more placid.

But spring is followed by the long hot

summer where tempers burn short.

All good and happy events seem to be

accompanied by frustration.

Is there any ray of hope for the

future of mankind?

Can man rise from his state, can he

progress upwards?

Will the history of humanity be one,

unending drama?

No, the entire race of man cannot

be converted.

But, if those truly concern with the

now and tomorrow.

If they made an attempt, then, maybe

their corner of life would shine.

For as long as you, and I, and others,

with the desire to save then, maybe.

Take your sphere of influence and share

a thought, a moment with someone.

Then maybe one point within history

will have been brightened.
