St. Joseph Story Chapter 7: A Classic Pink Princess Phone

Times passes and guess what, I need to tinkle…, searched for and quickly located the call button, summon a qualified medical staff, who then patiently waited at the door.

Upon exiting the bathroom facilities, announced I needed a phone. My cell stopped working hours ago. Is there a landline phone in the building I query? Somewhere? The Tech looked around. None here.

And…?

Eventually conceding, he had to find a phone elsewhere, eventually returned with a classic, pink princess phone. A rotary phone. Now to remember a phone number last used by memory years ago.

Called home to update, Norma devised a way to get me a cable to charge my cell phone. Although, I must admit I wanted the phone, but truly did not want to expose her to anything near the hospital.

My hero!!!

Neurologist stopped by and has this thing about not wearing a stethoscope and the whole insurance scam in America.

A chatty neurologist looking for an audience, six feet away, “this is going to cost someone $100,000.”

Next steps; MRI, OT, PT, ST, echo with bubbles, check sugar levels, and may modify my meds.

Breakfast, call nurse, sorry not sure any breakfasts are still available. Will check.

Breakfast arrives, an hour before lunch… salt free… palatable?

Wait and nap, watch MSNBC and viewed the updated COVID-19 statistics.

Arizona makes the national news as a new and upcoming hot spot, lucky.

OT screening, just like the one President Trump completed when he had his physical and scored 30 out of 30 on a cognitive test. So did I; I could draw a clock face, recognize a giraffe, repeat numbers, and list as many words I could recall starting with the letter F in one minute, etc. He noted I had generated a MUCH longer list than he has seen others generate. Not sure if this is good news or bad, but take that Trump!

And THANKS to NORMA I now have a way to charge my cell!!
