What Was God Thinking?

Sitting here, I’m feeling perturbed. I’m old but seriously, Methuselah lived to 969 years, and the good book listed others living hundreds of years. What was God thinking? The Universe, 13.7 billion years, the earth 4.543 billion, human species about 300,000 years while tortoises live for 150 years. Then wipes everyone out with a flood, and shortened humanity's lifespan. Apparently, did the math and realized we would quickly flood the earth with people?

Life expectancy for men and women in the United States 74.5, 80.2 years respectfully.

With our current technology would take 73,000 years to Proxima Centauri (nearest star).
