Who Did You Go To the Prom With?

Dancing was a sin, it stirs the passions leading to sex or at the very least impure thoughts. They warned me to lust mentally, in my heart, is the same as if committing the actual act.

Sitting on a trashed cot six feet away, my “girl friend” on the other end, looking in the opposite direction with a dozen teens on the back porch in the middle of the day, a transgression worthy of a lecture.

Only parties I attended were chaperon by devoted, sinless adults, apparently. They did not permit me near a pool with members of the opposite sex. I never saw the phrase “the opposite sex” until Junior High School, and I did not know what that actually meant. This printed on an aptitude test.

I have so many thoughts, but for now it would be best to answer the question and move on… I did not go to the prom, any prom, ever.
