Beginning May 20, 1875, officials entered everyone receiving a Social Security number into a database. This database includes:
Name (full name at birth–first, middle, and last name)
Date of birth:
Place of birth:
Citizenship status:
Gender:
Race:
Father’s name:
Mother’s maiden name:
Death date:
NOTE: Nothing connects these records to Social Security benefit payment records. Social Security benefit payment records are remarkably correct, with about 99.8% accuracy.
Recording deaths was a challenge, a booking nightmare, many missing.
So, 2025–1875 = 150 years.
NOTE: Numident files have nothing to do with key files maintained by SSA.
Sloppy record keeping, not fraud.
