Network tech sent to visit a local school, way back… in the day. To evaluate the use of computers in the classroom. The future, they said. Humanity’s liberator. Teacher’s partner in a plastic case: the Learning Box. The tutor.

I watched. Noted how quickly students innately exploited technology… would manipulate its capacity. A disruptor. A distractor. A new toy.

No, I stated, administrators should never permit computers in the classroom. Neither in elementary nor middle school. Maybe high school, as an elective.

Artificial Intelligence, they say. Humanity’s liberator. Teacher’s partner behind the screen.
