Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 2:45 p.m. …by riding on the shoulder, eventually at the front of the line, next to a dump-truck, unseen, waited… for the green light.
Light turned green… was struck, dying the next day leaving behind… family, friends….
Vehicles 21, motorcycles zero.
Tucson is a motorcycle town, year round.
Drivers warned to be aware. Still, to motorcyclist, you are quick and often unpredictable.
One family will now live with lost, while another driver will live with the knowledge they have taken a life.
Over 50% of fatalities involved multiple vehicles, head injury the top fatal injury.
In the wee hours of June 22nd of this year, the son-in-law of a dear friend perished on Arizona Highway 90, while speeding over 100 mph on his soft-tail Harley, TJ, as he was known, collided head-on with a car driven by a young HS teen, whose headlights were off.
Over the years, several friends and acquaintances did not return from their ride. My ex-wife's brother was decapitated riding near Clemson, NC. David from HS hit an overpass column going too fast to turn his bike. Nearly becoming a statistic myself untold times, youthful beliefs in inviciblity faded. Newtonian physics wins out every time.
