After every tragedy victims or advocates seeking solace will proclaim, “We are better than this.”
I fear this is not true.
I wish this was true, even if only occasionally. But I fear each individually possess a slanted view, a bias, a proclivity to hold onto a darkness, a murkiness, disguised.
We huddled within our tribes and we smile, hold to our common traits, values and point out the flaws in others. It’s never me. How do I know this, because “I am better than this.”
Noah alone among men had lived a life free from sin and evil.
Doubtful.
